Woo, I actually decided to re-write this! ^_^ At the time that I created this site (On February 9, 2001) there were few to NO Quistis shrines on the web. In fact, there were only two well-known and worthwhile ones. Shockwave Pulsar and Quistis, the SeeD Instructor: both of which are now closed. There might've been more, but these were the only two I knew of.
Well, anyway, there was this incredible booming of Rinoa Heartilly shrines, but seriously a lack of good, solid, Quistis Trepe shrines. Well, I had times on my hands and a will to make a website, so thus, Misunderstood Love was born. (You can see what the first ever version looked like here) I had an obsession with Quistis and I automatically thought that she was the best all around character in FF8.
So, Misunderstood Love was born. Hosted on the nice, freeserver geocities, we got our start. It became very large, very fast and hit 2,000 hits before I decided that I might as well learn html. Up until that time I had been using pagebuilder. Pagebuilder is nice for people that lack html skills, but is very limited and time consuming. So, due to influence by one of my friends and close affiliates, I decided to try out envy.nu. My site was moved there and went through a lot of problems and millions of site changes.
ML became very popular and I was sad to see most of the other Quistis shrines disappear off the net. I was determined that no matter what, my Quistis shrine was here to stay. After hitting about 4,000 hits, I decided that fateback would be a great place to store the contents of this site as they allow unlimited bandwidth and 60 free megs. Wrong answer. A month later, fateback went through upgrading and completely deleted all my site's content. I had no backup... thus, ML was reborn again and all content was totally rewritten.
I decided it was high time to move to my domain, the only safe place on the net anymore. So, the main page remains at envy.nu, but all content is here on magitek.net. ^_^ I'm planning on keeping this site going and running for at least another 2 or three years. Afterwards, I might be tired of domain owning. If I do for some reason decide that I no longer wish to own a domain, I can simply move the contents of this site to envy.nu and this site will never be deleted. I have no intention of ever letting this site go down. Even if I decide that I don't want to be on the web anymore, I at least want this site to live for at least (oh, maybe) 10 years or so. ^_^ It would be awesome to see my site thrive that long.
In any case, to make things short, this was my hobby as I got bored and had nothing to do most of the day. Plus, who doesn't love Quistis Trepe? Most of the content doesn't reflect what was originally started as you can view in the first version of ML, which I never took down. I hope that even though things are changing, the goodness of this shrine will remain.
